Who we are

We, Matthijs and Sylvia Heuvelman, have been living in the south of Portugal since the beginning of September 2007. After spending several holidays in this beautiful part of the country, we were so inspired that we wanted to work and live here permanently.

As we have a joint passion for hospitality, the decision was easily made. Finding suitable accommodation was more difficult. Eventually we went for Casa Porta Azul in Boliqueime, Loulé. This old farmhouse is more than 100 years old and has been renovated a lot in the past century. Our latest renovations ensure that the former charm of the house is still reflected, yet with modern comfort. In the meantime, we have been enjoying life in Portugal with our daughters Sophie and Sara for many years now.
